Guitarfest Guitar Show

 Guitarfest returns to the Summit County Fairgrounds at 229 E. Howe Road Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 (Akron/Tallmage Ohio)  on Sunday, April 28th. The Spring 2019 show is being brought to you in part by The Guitar Department on Kenmore Blvd in Akron and Bootleg Guitars and Basses!  Buy, sell,  trade guitar/bass instruments, amps, pedals, and accessories. It's all here.  New, used, vintage. We have you covered. Over 125 individual sellers,  dealers, retailers, collectors, and manufacturers were there. We also have a beer truck and food truck, and live music at the show. We encourage attendees to bring that old guitar, amp, or pedal to sell or trade. Admission to the show is only $8.00 and kids 12 and under are FREE. Will you be there? 


Guitarfest Guitar Clinics

The pros will be there to share and answer questions. Special technique and gear clinics on the "Clifton Guitarworks" stage all day long. Greg Koch will host a very special clinic with Ken Haas from Reverend (brought to you by Lays' Guitar Shop/The Hoppin' Frog Brewery/Reverend Guitars) showing off his signature gear including his new Reverend Guitars Signature model at 12 noon. Freddy Demarco from Demarco School of Music will host a guitar clinic at 1:30pm. YouTube guitar slinger Robert Baker will host a clinic featuring Vola Guitars and answers your questions at 2:30pm. Last but not least, Terry Bland (played banjo for the Dukes of Hazzard car chase scenes) will host a banjo clinic at 3:30pm


Guitarfest is a next generation guitar show

Come and be a part of the largest and most diverse guitar show in Ohio this coming spring! Our vendors have everything from budget beginner guitars to vintage collector guitars. New, used, and vintage, we have it all including lots of giveaways throughout the day! This is a show for the people, by the people! 


The Koch/Marshall Trio

The FREE Guitarfest Pre-Show party is brought to you by Lay's Guitar Shop in Akron and The Hoppin' Frog Brewery. This Free show (21 and over only) takes place the night before Guitarfest on Saturday, April 27th 2019 at 8pm the Hoppin' Frog Brewery (1680 E Waterloo Rd Akron, Ohio 44306) There are NO reserved tickets available and entry will be based on first come/first served. The Modernes will take the stage as the opener around 8pm and the Koch/Marshall Trio will take the stage between 8:45pm-9:00pm. (this show will have limited seating and the Hoppin' Frog is opening their patio as well as securing space in their parking lot) 

 Milwaukee native Greg Koch has forged a successful  career as a guitar player's guitarist. He has been called "fiendishly  talented" by author and former editor- in-chief of Guitar Player  Magazine Tom Wheeler and "scary good" by guitar phenom Joe Bonamassa. In  addition to his 15 releases on multiple record labels which feature his  unique take on a variety of American guitar styles and his versatile  compositions, Koch is widely known for his lengthy tenure as an  international ambassador for Fender Guitars which listed him in their  “Top Ten Unsung Guitarists” on He  is also a best-selling author and video instructor for music publisher  Hal Leonard. Greg is a contributing columnist for a variety of guitar  magazines including Guitar Player Magazine which listed Greg’s “Chief’s  Blues” in their “40 Badass Blues Solos You Must Hear” and Premier  Guitar. For the last few years Greg is renowned for his wildly popular  internet videos (which number in the thousands with tens of millions of  views) originating from the legendary Colorado guitar shop Wildwood  Guitars. Furthermore, Koch is internationally known for his work with  Fishman Transducers as a clinician and for his contributions to the  development of the highly acclaimed Greg Koch Signature Gristletone  Pickups for Telecaster guitar.
