Guitarfest returns to the Summit County Fairgrounds at 229 E. Howe Road Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 (Akron/Tallmage Ohio) on Sunday, April 28th. The Spring 2019 show is being brought to you in part by The Guitar Department on Kenmore Blvd in Akron and Bootleg Guitars and Basses! Buy, sell, trade guitar/bass instruments, amps, pedals, and accessories. It's all here. New, used, vintage. We have you covered. Over 125 individual sellers, dealers, retailers, collectors, and manufacturers were there. We also have a beer truck and food truck, and live music at the show. We encourage attendees to bring that old guitar, amp, or pedal to sell or trade. Will you be there?
The pros will be there to share and answer questions. Special technique and gear clinics on the "Clifton Guitarworks" stage all day long. Greg Koch will host a very special clinic (brought to you by Lays' Guitar Shop/The Hoppin' Frog Brewery/Reverend Guitars) showing off his signature gear including his new Reverend Guitars Signature model. YouTube guitar slinger Robert Baker will also host a clinic from Vola Guitars and answer questions. More clinics to be announced soon.

The FREE Guitarfest Pre-Show party is brought to you by Lay's Guitar Shop in Akron and The Hoppin' Frog Brewery. This Free show (21 and over only) takes place the night before Guitarfest on Saturday, April 27th 2019 at 8pm the Hoppin' Frog Brewery (1680 E Waterloo Rd Akron, Ohio 44306) There are NO reserved tickets available and entry will be based on first come/first served. The Modernes will take the stage as the opener around 8pm and the Koch/Marshall Trio will take the stage between 8:45pm-9:00pm.
Milwaukee native Greg Koch has forged a successful career as a guitar player's guitarist. He has been called "fiendishly talented" by author and former editor- in-chief of Guitar Player Magazine Tom Wheeler and "scary good" by guitar phenom Joe Bonamassa. In addition to his 15 releases on multiple record labels which feature his unique take on a variety of American guitar styles and his versatile compositions, Koch is widely known for his lengthy tenure as an international ambassador for Fender Guitars which listed him in their “Top Ten Unsung Guitarists” on Fender.com. He is also a best-selling author and video instructor for music publisher Hal Leonard. Greg is a contributing columnist for a variety of guitar magazines including Guitar Player Magazine which listed Greg’s “Chief’s Blues” in their “40 Badass Blues Solos You Must Hear” and Premier Guitar. For the last few years Greg is renowned for his wildly popular internet videos (which number in the thousands with tens of millions of views) originating from the legendary Colorado guitar shop Wildwood Guitars. Furthermore, Koch is internationally known for his work with Fishman Transducers as a clinician and for his contributions to the development of the highly acclaimed Greg Koch Signature Gristletone Pickups for Telecaster guitar.
